United Way of the National Capital Area

63rd Annual DC One Fund Campaign

This fall, the District Government will kick off our 63rd Annual DC One Fund Campaign.

This program puts into action our belief that we should do all we can to promote DC Values and support pathways to the middle class. The DC One Fund was created to provide employees with an easy way of donating to charities via payroll deduction. The Fund has grown increasingly over the years. Last year your generosity committed more than $1 Million in pledges, many of them Fair Share Givers who pledged between 1% and 3% of their annual salary. If you have not, please consider becoming a Fair Share Giver.

I am extremely grateful, as Mayor, to see just how hard our government employees work each and every day making sure that Washington, DC is a great place to live, work and play. In many cases, working in tandem with the city, our non-profits do the hands-on, day-to-day work to serve the many needs of their clients, our residents. They rely on workplace giving drives, such as the DC One Fund, to sustain their operations. So, we are proud to again partner with the United Black Fund and the United Way of the National Capital Area in this 63rd campaign. Together, we are seeking to reach a goal of $1 Million for another successful year.

When you pledge a portion of your paycheck to the DC One Fund, it means one less missed meal, one more night's sleep off the street and possibly tuition coverage for a summer camp. Think of those organizations you hold close to your heart and consider helping them to help so many more with the power of your designation(s).

Our kickoff is October 3, 2017, however, if you are eager to get started, feel free to visit the DC One Fund pledging website at www.onefund.dc.gov and make your pledge now. On behalf of all the participating non-profits and community recipients, we thank you for all your support in giving to the city. Director Shorter and I hope to see you at the kickoff and/or agency fairs throughout the city.

Sincerely,
